Over the past few days, my body has been showing me that it needs a recovery time.
I haven't had as much energy--I've been feeling more tired in the middle of the day than usual.
But as I told Steve yesterday on Labor Day, "There are no holidays for mamas."
That's true, and that's also the reason why we have to be the ones to build the rhythms of rest we need into our lives--no one else is going to do it for us.
A glowing daily routine that leaves our home immaculate is absolutely pointless if we're too tired to enjoy it.
Do you need a little recovery time, too? Probably jetting off to a nearby spa isn't a possibility, but a nap or time alone with a novel and a cup of tea might be.
Let's look for ways to stabilize our rhythms of rest today.
"Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop."
