because, you know, it feels so festive to decorate in a hard hat!
I've made the decision to close comments starting today on Steady Mom for a few reasons:
- There are so many places you can contact and interact with me now: Twitter (times 2), Facebook, email, Simple Homeschool, and Pinterest. Wowzers--a lot, yes?
- At times I get distracted by how many comments have or have not come in on a certain post, and I'd like to feel free from those details and from defining myself and my work based on that measurement. (Silly, I know. But true for this recovering, people-pleasing perfectionist.)
- Reading and responding to comments takes time and I want to simplify where I can.
- If you enjoy Steady Mom, I'd like you to feel you can take what it has to offer you without the need to give anything back (in the form of a comment, I mean).
Just to clarify: I haven't received any rude or inappropriate comments that led me to this decision--I am so thankful for all who read here, and feel an internal nudging this direction.
Comments will remain open on Simple Homeschool, and I'll open them here as well for specific posts that would benefit from interaction.
I need to keep my focus where it should be: serving my family and writing the messages I feel called to share. This decision helps me do that for now (and if the whole experiment doesn't work, I'll just open comments back up again!).
