So many of you (the comments are at least as interesting as the post itself!) wrote in to agree with me that you also desperately desire peace in your day, yet also desperately struggle finding it at times.
Is there a way we can support each other in the choosing of it? It seems dismissive to move on from the conversation completely, when clearly our hearts cry out "Yes, I need this!"
How can we choose peace as a virtual community? I'm not exactly sure, and that's why I'm writing this post. We won't find peace if we have more to do, so low-maintenance is key! Have any ideas?
Here are a few thoughts rattling around in my mind:
- An accountability group of some sort, similar to Kat's awesome Hello Mornings, but with a peace-specific focus
- Create a Twitter hashtag #choosingpeace - so people could check in thoroughout their days for encouragement, post their to-do lists, state when they need to let something go in their efforts for peace, or get a quick moment of support when they need it.
- Commit to general guidelines that make peace easier to find. Possibilities? Limiting to-do lists to six items, following a one-minute rule to keep on top of clutter and mess, etc.
I'm open and would love to help meet a need out there if there's a way we can travel this road together. It just so happens that I'm already in the midst of a project that is quite connected with this topic. I'm working hard to finish it in the hopes that it might provide fuel for our journey toward a more peaceful home.
Would this be helpful to you? Any ideas on how to make it work? Ideas on what you most need in the way of virtual support?
