My thirties have rocked my world, in a good way. Definitely my favorite decade of life thus far--and may I never be one of those people reluctant to share my age.
I've earned each and every day of this life story, both the good and bad.
My thirties have seen me become a homeschooling mom of three. They've seen me start a writing career that I wasn't even looking for (& absolutely love).
And now, they've seen me become a vegan.
For 30 days, that is.
Having been mostly vegetarian for several years and fascinated by food and nutrition, veganism has recently piqued my curiosity.
So when blogging friend Heather opened up her new e-course, the 30 Day Vegan, and when I saw it started the day before my 35th birthday, I took that as a sign.
I expected to have an interesting month of self-discovery.
What I didn't expect was that everyone else in my home would want to join in.
But isn't that what we hope will happen as mothers?
That somehow our choices, our passions, will inspire and fuel those we live with. As a mom I hope I always find myself eager to learn and discover.
Which is why, on the eve of turning 35, I'm also learning to draw.
Like many others, I never thought of myself as creative. The blogosphere has helped me challenge that. And now I find myself wanting to add a bit of art to my life, add a bit of creativity. Creativity that nurtures and fills the atmosphere of our home.
So with the help of this book and this DVD, I'm doing it! (I feel a little nervous showing you all, but I'm going to do it anyway.)
Yes, I like the sound of that.
