Yesterday gave me such joy - I loved sharing a little surprise with you all and hearing from those of you whose day it brightened.
A few people mentioned in the comments the idea of paying forward one kindness with another--I love it! This time of year, more than any other, opportunities for us to do good abound and it blesses both us and our children when we seek out ways to give to others.
There are also a few small ways that you can support my work and the causes on my heart this time of year, so I thought I'd take a moment to mention those today.
1. Use my Amazon Associates link.
If you're going to be buying any gifts through Amazon this holiday season, I receive a small commission off your purchase if you just click through any Amazon link on my site before ordering. (This is true all year long!)
It doesn't cost anything extra to you but gives a little support back to my work here. Thank you!
2. Leave a review of Steady Days.
Many of you mentioned in the comments this week that you've read and enjoyed Steady Days. It never ceases to bless and encourage me when I hear that, and I'd love if you would share your thoughts with others by leaving a review on Amazon.
Actually I've been at 29 reviews for a few months now so it would be quite nice to break over the 30 mark before the holidays!
3. Donate to Love146.
My husband is the CEO of Love146, a non-profit organization working to put an end to child sex trafficking and exploitation.
This is the cause our family lives and breathes for and if you're looking for a place to do your end-of-year giving, nothing would thrill me more than to see it become your cause as well.
If you have family members who do not need another material possession this holiday, and would like to give them something more meaningful, you can donate in their honor as well. They can receive an e-card just in time for the holidays, or you can print the e-card out yourself and send it to them (I like to do this for my Mom and Nana.).
For every $20 you donate this season, you'll receive a set of 10 holiday cards handmade by survivors in the Love146 Asia Aftercare Program. Steve recently had the honor of being in the wedding of a rescued girl who was in this program - how amazing is that!
It is so wonderful to share this virtual space with you. Let's keep our eyes open for the myriad of ways we can pay it forward to those in our lives each day.
Thank you!
