A note from today: This post was originally published on May 25, 2009. I was so grateful when I wrote it because after six months of blogging I had 200 readers and was thrilled! The fact that today there are more than 2,000 of you is a humbling and amazing honor.
So I figured many of you probably didn't read this post the first go round! ;) And it really does articulate my heart for this space. Thanks so much for reading, and please let me know how my posts can serve you and your little people.
Hi everyone. I wanted
to take a minute to say thanks to my subscribers, old and new. It's
amazing to me that so many of you care to journey along regularly with
our family and find a little inspiration here. Thank you so much.
It's my goal, in
every area of life, to be an advocate for children. That's what I
try to accomplish here at Steady Mom, what first led us to international
adoption, why I've taken the position as editor of Simple Homeschool, and why our family works toward the abolition of child sex
trafficking with Love146.
I hope this venue encourages mothers to give our best to the amazing little people in our lives, during this brief time we share with them. I also aim to present a realistic view of motherhood, with both its highs and lows. I want you to go away thinking, "If Jamie can do this, I can too!"
If these goals resonate
with you, and if you think the information here can benefit others, I'd
love to ask you to spread the word to those in your network who may be
in need of some practical mothering inspiration.
Gandhi said, "Whatever
you do may seem insignificant, but it is important that you do it." And
so I'm trying to offer all I can in this virtual community.
My motivation is not
that others think about me (I'm actually freakishly
uncomfortable at the center of attention), but that more children can
have a peaceful, joy-filled place to call home - and can grow up to
bring positive change to our world.
Thanks for being a part of Steady Mom. I'm really enjoying being on the journey toward intentional, professional motherhood with you all.
If you enjoyed

In the spirit of the challenge, take a little time to visit the links of fellow bloggers - but not too much time! Say it with me - "Only 30 Minutes!"
Do you have a 30-minute post you'd like to share? Link up below! Make sure your post links back to this post on Steady Mom, and that your link on MckLinky goes directly to your 30-minute post - no general home pages, please! Otherwise your link will be deleted, and I'll be sad.
