Keeping Track of Memories

The following post is written by Steady Mom's monthly contributor, Catherine.

Sometimes it's a hobby, sometimes a passion, and occasionally a "to-do" item on my list--but no matter what, recording my family's memories, milestones and heritage is something I am intentional about. 

Until recently, I was a traditional scrapbooker.  I would gather my supplies and leave them out for several days while I worked at getting precious photographs placed and thoughts recorded.  I have even been known to go away for a weekend to scrapbook with friends.

I've always had a love for memory making and from a very young age took interest in saving things to remember my experiences. 

Currently I have a motto to focus my memory-keeping:

An Alternative to Potty Training

Everyone seems to have their own, often strongly-held opinion when it comes to potty training.

Whether it's infant training, learning your child's cues, or which season is best to train in--you can find research and how-to's that will keep you busy for a long time.

I felt completely overwhelmed by the idea of potty training.

Maybe it's because I had two babies at the same time (Jonathan and Elijah are only seven months apart).

Maybe it's because the whole subject made me out of control.

But for whatever reason, my attempts to train Jonathan at the age of two were not working out. He was very against it, and I was very frustrated.

Many times I wondered, "Is there another way to do this?"
