This week is something I've been gearing up to for quite a while now.
My book launch represents the culmination of many hopes and dreams for me--as my goal in my book is to advocate for children.
And it's ironic how such a noble-sounding cause can end up making one so focused on self--wondering how my book is doing and what the response is to my book.
I think we can all agree that there are some children in Haiti right now who need advocacy. Need our thoughts and prayers, and not just in a passing way as we head to get our morning latte. They are worth caring about.
So I can't just continue with my book launch without mentioning the children in Haiti.
Haiti has many orphans--as of yesterday, they now have even more.
At times like these, we need to dig deep into our pockets to help the children.
If it was your son or daughter in need, nothing could stop you. And these children are sons and daughters in urgent need.
So give all you can and more than you think you can. There's no way to tiptoe around the fact that Haiti needs our dollars desperately.
Here's where we are giving as a family:
1. World Vision - World Vision has an amazing disaster response effort and they get funds on the ground quickly.
2. God's Littlest Angels - This orphanage does amazing work for the children of Haiti.
While the orphanage itself was not impacted by the earthquake, they will find their resources stretched even more beyond capacity in the days to come as they help with the swelling numbers of children who need them.
Let your mama's heart guide your response--there are children who need our help today.
