Do you find your mothering excitement dwindling from time to time? Are you on the lookout for ideas to keep the enthusiasm flowing in your home?
Throughout Steady Days, I refer to various tools I use to help me mother more intentionally. One of these ideas, Steady Blessings, is designed to help moms develop and maintain enthusiasm.
Here's an excerpt from the book:
"Gratitude is an important contributor to retaining your enthusiasm and even your health.
Recent studies completed by the Institute for Research on Unlimited Love found that being grateful increases your body’s antibodies, sharpens your mental skills, lowers your blood pressure, and helps limit depression.
I find that in the midst of the day-to-day with my children, it’s easy to get caught up in the little problems and forget the larger perspective. But taking a few minutes to write down blessings and special moments reminds me to seek the joy in the midst of the mundane.
It’s the little things, like my son saying, “I really love you, Mommy,” or a friend’s phone call, that provide a boost of encouragement for the day.
Steady Blessings are just that, steady. They are always present in our lives; we need only to stop and look for them. For the good of our health, our enthusiasm, and our children, why wouldn’t we?"
Taking time to jot down your blessings brings clarity and a balanced perspective to our life as moms. The sample above shows one way we've accomplished this in our family. I like that it can be used alongside the children--making gratitude a family habit.
The above form is one of several print-ready, editable downloads available to accompany the book--for those who want an easy way to quickly implement some of the ideas.
And today I'd like to share this blank Steady Blessings form here--with you! So please take a look and feel free to print it off for use in your home.
I'd love to hear in the comments about ways you make gratitude a part of your family's life. And I want to invite you back here as the book celebrations continue--with a giveaway coming up tomorrow!
