Countdown to STEADY DAYS: 5 More Days!
The following post is written by Steady Mom's monthly contributor, Angie.
We celebrated the coming of 2010 in style a la a pajama party with good friends on the West Coast. But because our five-year-olds could barely make it past bedtime, our celebrations took place on East Coast time.
8:45 arrived and we sat in front of the TV, confetti poppers in hand, awaiting
what would be my 27th New Year's Eve.
But for these boys, it was the very first time they
really understood the excitement and thrill of that big ole ball dropping.
They watched with anticipation, bouncing up and down in their adorable PJs, not
able to peel their eyes from the screen.
Bam, the ball fell and the usual music
played.
There was confetti everywhere, there was the innocence of laughter,
there was the inevitable yelling of "It's finally TWO-THOUSAND-TEN!"--as if they had any idea prior to this day.
It was joyous, and reminded me of this beautiful gift--our children. Experiencing life through their eyes is something I strive to do more often.
The new year is upon us and I can't help but think about 2010 with
anticipation, excitement, & wonder.
What will this year bring to my family,
to my business, to my life?
I could sit and list the many things I loved about
the previous year, as well as an even longer list of things I regret.
What good is it, though, to ponder on the negative?
Instead--I choose to let go
and live.
To live with a child's heart.
I hope you will, too.
