So there's this book. Steady Days. The crazy thing is that I wrote it!
Months ago many of you gave your opinion on the cover design. Thanks again for your input.
I promised I would, in dramatic fashion, unveil the cover when it was final.
So, ta-da (that's the drama): Here's my book!
Yes, the photo is big. Because how often does one get to unveil the cover of one's first book?!!
Do you love it? I hope so. Because I do, do, really do.
Just look at my sweet little people's hands on there!
Oh yes, the hands. And therein lies a little story.
Imagine trying to gently encourage three active children over to calmly (& without moving) hold a seasonal object in your lovely hands--see where I'm going with this?
Thankfully, I had our lovely friend and talented photographer Desirea Rodgers here in the trenches with me.
After multiple attempts and a few frazzled kiddos, I finally had an inspired idea. It kept the hand models entranced for a good ten minutes, during which the above shot was captured.
A story. Mommy told a story--complete with photographers, firemen, and superheroes.
It saved the day. And saved my cover design.
I'm also thrilled to announce a (hopefully final!) publication date - January 11, 2010!
Many of you have asked about preorders--they're not available yet, but as soon as they are you can bet I'll let you know!
And please, if you haven't already, take a little look around the Steady Days website!
Thanks so, so much, and stay tuned.
