So the past two days can be summed up in a word: awful. I'm having multiple chances (um, like thousands?!) every day to grant "do-overs", show patience, and help little people learn.
All of which has inspired a new series here, reminding myself (& hopefully you, too) to look for the gems in the midst of the daily grind. Blessings always lurk under the surface - even when what's on top seeks to hide them.
So today, I'm thankful for - drumming. My boys' new passion, you see. Not with a drum set, mind you. That would be so....conventional.
Instead, think wooden spoons, hands, shovels, sticks....whatever they find to clamor and connect in a fury of noise.
It happens on all surfaces - sink, dining table, sofa, beds in the morning.
Loud? Yes.
And instead of angrily screaming "NO. MORE. DRUMMING!" I'm trying to be thankful...
...for chubby arms and little hands, healthy curiosity, and depth of imagination.
And you? What are you thankful for today?
