Before our staycation began, I promised I would end my television series with some specific, high-quality video recommendations for children.
So here are a few of our favorites:
Mighty Machines: This series is made up of several DVDs - a dream come true for preschool boys (but to be honest, Trishna likes them just as much!) Each DVD contains three 24-minute episodes following different machines as they complete their jobs for the day. (Ages 2-6)
The Little Travelers: I'm so thankful that we recently discovered these! I enjoy them so much that I almost always watch with the children (can't bear to miss out). This series follows two young girls as they travel the globe exploring different countries. Currently three videos have been made:
Japan, The British Isles, and Bali (which we haven't seen yet - it's on our wish list!). These shows vary from 40-60 minutes in length. (In the interest of full disclosure, there are two short scenes in the Japan episode I fast-forward, but we still love it.) Definitely worth watching! (Ages 4-9)
Mathtacular!: I mentioned this series in a previous post, but it's worth bringing up again. Adults may find these slightly "cheesy," but my three ask for it almost every day! There are three Mathtacular DVDs for different age groups, each containing between 2-4 hours of Math concepts demonstrated in fun and silly ways. We usually watch a few minutes each day. (Ages 4-10)
