the wicked queen had planted these beautiful, but poisonous mushrooms in Narnia. But we weren't fooled!
Elijah and I walked to Narnia yesterday--that's what we call a trail near our house. We kept an eye out for Aslan and defeated the Wicked Queen while we were gone (you know, the basics).
We also played the thankful game. Here's how.
Elijah: "I'm thankful for something and it starts with the letter B."
Me: "Bobcats?" (Feel free to have ridiculous guesses--kids love silliness, right?!)
Elijah: "NO! It starts with a B and it flies through the air."
Me: "Birds!"
Elijah: "YES! Your turn!"
We played the thankful game all the way to Narnia and part of the way home. We were thankful for water, food, Daddy who works so hard, airplanes, adoption, Nana Julie & Granddad, good friends, our beautiful house, and a lot more.
I felt immediately lighter in spirit after just a few thanksgivings. The thankful game is perfect for walks, drives, or when you're having to wait a few minutes in a line and need to keep the troops focused and happy!
"The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest."
~ William Blake
