When I was younger, my mom and dad used to look at each other and say, "How on earth is Jamie ever going to find anyone like her?"
Like me? Well, I was a book-loving, Southern Belle with a global vision--quite convinced I could and would change the world.
My mom, God bless her, began praying way back then, for the perfect husband for me. She made a list of some of the qualities he would have and faithfully asked God to send me someone special.
Someone...like me.
God answered. He had to send me halfway around the world to find Steve, but find him I did.
He gives good gifts to those who ask.
Today I look at my own unique family and wonder, "How will they find anyone like them?"
I believe it's time to start some lists of my own.
Today, I remember meeting Steve 20 years ago (in a bathroom in Holland, but that's another story!). I remember marrying him 14 years ago.
I give thanks that we are changing the world--together.
And I anticipate more answered prayers coming our way for our own kids...in a decade or two.
